Local Elected Officials in Chester County Support Moskowitz in May 21 Primary
May 15, 2019 – With six days left until the upcoming Democratic Primary Election, the Marian Moskowitz for Chester County Commissioner campaign is announcing the endorsements of nine current state and local elected officials, showcasing broad support and belief in Moskowitz’s candidacy.
The nine officials include Pennsylvania Auditor General Eugene DePasquale, State Senator Andy Dinniman (SD19), State Senator Katie Muth (SD44), State Representative Melissa Shusterman (HD157), State Representative Carolyn Comitta (HD156), State Representative Kristine Howard (HD167), State Representative Christina Sappey (HD158), State Representative Dan Williams (HD154) and Phoenixville Mayor Peter Urscheler.
“I have seen community and business leaders across the country and there are few quite like Marian Moskowitz. All across the Commonwealth, we look for people like Marian who are passionate about fairness, sustainability and improving the quality of life for all. Not only does she have those ideals, but she also has the experience and professionalism to see them through. I am confident that Marian is the best choice to lead Chester County forward and I am proud to support her,” said Auditor General DePasquale.
Senator Dinniman said, “I will be voting for Marian Moskowitz. Marian has what it takes to beat the current Republican commissioners with bold, progressive, Democratic alternatives.”
Senator Muth, the newest Democratic Senator for Chester County, added, “Marian is the exact type of strong, progressive woman we need to lead Chester County. She’s a leader in her community, doesn’t run away from difficult tasks and is always ready to lend a helping hand. I am proud to endorse Marian Moskowitze for Chester County Commissioner.”
In endorsing Moskowitz, Representative Shusterman stated, “Marian has a prominent career as a businesswoman, responsible local real estate developer and is on the Executive Board of Emerge PA, Pennsylvania’s premier organization that recruits, trains and provides a powerful network to Democratic women who want to run for office and win. Marian is that rare combination of grit, compassion and forward thinking that Chester County needs right now.”

I have known Marian for many years and know her to be a generous and caring advocate for our community. She will be a great partner to our Chester County legislative delegation,” said Representative Howard.

From her commitment to advancing educational opportunities as a board member of both West Chester University and the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education, to her outstanding skills in helping redevelop Phoenixville through the Franklin Commons and Colonial Theatre projects, Marian is the visionary that Chester County needs. A staunch Democrat with bipartisan respect, Marian will lead us to victory at the polls. I strongly endorse MARIAN MOSKOWITZ for County Commissioner,” said Representative Williams.
“There are few people that have helped the Phoenixville region prosper more than Marian,” said Mayor Urscheler. “It’s her community leadership that led me to choose Marian to serve on our task force to bring train service back into Phoenixville. I have seen firsthand what Marian has done to help Phoenixville rise from the ashes and I cannot think of a better leader to bring prosperity to all of Chester County.”
Moskowitz is one of four Democrats that voters will be able to choose from on Tuesday for the two seats in November’s general election. If elected, she would like to create a county-wide environmental sustainability commission, improve on transportation and infrastructure and build on Chester County’s successes to ensure economic prosperity for all. She is third on the ballot.
“I am humbled and grateful for the support of so many inspiring leaders here in Chester County. I am proud of the work we’ve done in the past together to bring positive change in our community and look forward to supporting the great work they are all doing as a Commissioner. My family would not have been able to thrive had we lived anywhere else, so now I am running to expand opportunities for everyone.
