Priority: A Healthy and Prosperous Chester County
A Healthy and Prosperous Chester County:

As a community developer, Marian has spent her career reinventing properties to ensure that all members of the community can benefit from an area’s economic growth. She played a significant role in the revitalization of Phoenixville, in part with the development of Franklin Commons, a multi-use complex that created 450 jobs in the community. As Commissioner, Marian has continued to prioritize responsible development.

Individuals and families are also increasingly choosing Chester County for their homes and workplaces, and we must ensure that it remains a desirable place to live and work. That means revitalizing communities that have not yet benefited from economic growth and working toward more affordable and attainable housing options. There should be a place for everyone and anyone who wants to live, work, or open a business in our county.

A Record of Results:

  • Under Marian’s leadership, Chester County now has the lowest unemployment rate in the region. Our economy was ranked in the top 10 percent of High Performing Communities nationwide.

  • Chester County was also recently ranked the healthiest community in Pennsylvania, and among the 500 healthiest communities in the nation.

  • Marian led the way in approving a contract with a Coatesville-based nonprofit to provide guidance for residents seeking to buy their first home in Coatesville.

  • In 2021, the county’s partnership with Coatesville 2nd Century Alliance was renewed to support the city’s economic development and revitalization.

  • Marian approved $3.4 million toward affordable housing communities.

  • Alongside major business, agricultural, and tourism companies, Marian led the Board in adopting the county’s first agricultural development plan to guide our vital agricultural economy.
