Transportation and Infrastructure

Marian has been committed to expanding public transportation and investing in infrastructure. This makes our communities more vibrant, encourages employers to open offices in the county, and gives our residents access to good jobs. She is committed to making the county more accessible by public transportation and to strengthening the county’s infrastructure.

A Record of Results:

  • Marian championed the passage of a Responsible Contracting Ordinance (RCO) to promote union jobs on county infrastructure projects.

  • Under Marian’s leadership, the Board joined with the commissioners of Berks County and Montgomery County to create the Schuylkill River Passenger Rail Authority, which is exploring restoration of the train line between Reading and Philadelphia.

  • In October, Marian represented the county at the White House’s Building a Better Pennsylvania Forum to discuss how federal investments have benefited Chester County’s infrastructure.

  • During the height of the pandemic, she worked with the Transportation Management Association of Chester County (TMACC) to provide a free bus ride on its lines for people returning from getting their vaccines.

  • Marian worked to get a firm commitment from SEPTA to give Coatesville a SEPTA stop when the station work for Amtrak is complete.
